WHO WE ARE
Introduction
LeMay Electric, Inc. was founded over 20 years ago by Thomas J. LeMay, a Master Electrician that relocated here from his hometown in the state of Minnesota. Tom graduated in Electrical Technology from the Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis and later served a 4 year Apprenticeship in Northern Minnesota. The cold weather and long Minnesota winters encouraged Tom to accept a job offer from a contractor in Atlanta in 1983, Tom soon after founded LeMay Electric, Inc. Today, the company focuses on privately owned construction projects in the following segments:
Delivery Methods
Several years ago, LeMay Electric quoted 25% of its projects with Select Bid General Contractors and the balance with traditional Design-Bid-Build Contractors. Today, the percentages have reversed and 75% of our projects are with Select-Bid General Contractors.
The LeMay Estimators and Project Managers utilize Accubid® software for estimating. Accubid® is one of the most widely used estimating software packages adopted by top ranking specialty contractors. One reason that Select-Bid General Contractors rely on LeMay Electric budgeting processes through the Design Development processes is the plethora of data maintained in our Accubid® database. This historical data allows the LeMay team to provide General Contractors with a detailed scope of work and budgets from Schematic through 100% Design Development. Some of Atlanta’s top Select-Bid General Contractors now look to LeMay Electric as their “go to” sub throughout the project budgeting phase of construction.
Our Team
Our annual strategic planning process is divided into mission oriented teams. Team participants at LeMay Electric go beyond our internal employees and include our accounting firm of Large & Gilbert, our insurance agency, Insurance Office of America, our bonding company, Old Republic and our financial partners at Riverside Bank. Executives from these organizations participate in our annual planning and trimesterly updates. We even have a corporate Chaplain. Ask any of them about the culture at LeMay.
